Beginning Enameling
An introductory class. Learn the techniques of Vitreous Glass Enameling, fusing glass to metal. Emphasis will be placed on mastering the basics: sifting and wet packing, kiln and torch firing, mark-making, and knowledge of color interactions. A $25 fee will be charged for materials during first class. Click for more info

Jewelry I
A course for beginners.The basics of Jewelry and small metals fabricaiton. Learn the use of tools, how to saw, file, sand, and high temp silver solder with silver, copper, and brass. Create pierced sawing samples, band rings and a bezel set stone pendant. Projects will implement various finishing techniques and surface treatments including polishing, rolling mill texture, patinas and more. Supply costs vary; an approximate cost is $100.

Intermediate Enameling
Enameling - Intermediate/Advanced Jewelry 1 or equivalent and previous Enameling experience required. THis class is designed to be a follow up to the etching and enameling portion of the Jewelry Sampler. Take your enameling skills to the next level. Learn intermediate to advanced techniques for working with jewelry and small metals for Basse-Taille, Chanpleve and Cloisonne. Learn Enameling on Dye Formed objects created with the Hydraulic Press. Supply costs vary; an approximate cost is $75.
Fee: $90.

Intermediate Casting
Jewelry 1 or equivalent and previous Casting experience required. This class is designed as a follow-up to the Casting portion of the Jewelry Sampler class. Take your Casting skills to the next level; learn intermediate to advanced techniques for working with jewelry and small sculpture in Lost-Wax Casting, Cuttlefish Casting as well as Casting Organics and found objects. Supply costs vary; an approximate cost is $75.

Jewelry Open Studio
PREVIOUS EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. For safety, only experienced participants are eligible. Must be currently enrolled in a City of Tempe jewelry class or have completed a Tempe jewelry class within the last year. Fee: $80.
